Leave Application For School Picnic
Not every student can join the school picnic, and that is completely fine. This template excuses the student from the picnic day politely, without needing a long explanation.

When and how to use this letter
Submit this note two to three days before the picnic. Schools plan transport and headcounts from the attendance list, so an early note helps the organisers adjust the arrangements — and it avoids the assumption that the student is simply skipping.
Be honest about the reason: a family commitment, a medical reason, or financial constraint are all perfectly acceptable. Schools do not judge families for opting out of a paid trip. What matters is that the note is on record before the picnic day, so the absence is marked excused.
A practical tip: check whether the school holds regular classes for students who do not go on the picnic. In many schools, the remaining students are combined into supervised study halls rather than normal lessons. If that is the case, the student can use the day productively for revision. Also, if the picnic has a fee, settle or formally decline it before the deadline — an unpaid fee slip plus a missing student creates unnecessary confusion for the accounts office.
If you change your mind and wish to join the picnic after all, inform the teacher immediately and pay any fee before the deadline — late additions are often impossible once transport is booked. Use the picnic day productively if you stay back: it is an excellent day for revision without homework pressure. Many students skip picnics for valid reasons every year, so there is no need to feel left out.
