When and how to use this letter
Banks treat account-operation authorizations seriously, so expect stricter requirements than a normal authorization letter. Most banks require you to sign the letter in the presence of a bank officer, or to use the bank's own mandate form instead. Call your branch before drafting anything and ask exactly which format they accept — a beautifully written letter in the wrong format will simply be refused.
Deliver the letter in person if possible, with both you and the authorized person present so the bank can verify IDs and capture the representative's specimen signature. If you cannot visit, many banks accept the letter through their attestation or video-verification process; ask about it rather than assuming.
Set explicit boundaries. The template limits the person to named operations and a per-transaction cap, and expressly excludes account closure, loans, and changes to your details. Never grant open-ended authority such as "operate my account fully" — it is rarely necessary and removes your safety net.
A tip worth knowing: ask the bank for written confirmation that the authorization is recorded, including its scope and any expiry. Banks process revocations only when received in writing, so when you no longer need the arrangement, submit a dated revocation letter and get it stamped as received. Keep copies of everything; in any dispute about a transaction, your paper trail is your evidence.
